How To Repair A Cracked Pool Filter Housing

My havasu pool filter took a crap today, split, and is now leaking (see picture show). My pool guy will have a new one installed on Monday just I was wondering if anyone had a proffer to stop the leak so I tin can run the filter this weekend.

Same happened to my sons filter housing. Some adept sanding inside/out at the crack and a generous coating of Marine Tex(JB Weld like) inside and out and its been fine for several months so far:thumbsup

I wonder if yous could epoxy a patch from the inside? Clean the filter so the caput pressure is low.

Clean it up existent good, sand information technology, and then some Home Depot fiberglass and resin. It's piece of cake and inexpensive.

Don't run it.....not worth the take a chance of blowing out and partially draining pool. Likewise looks similar the h2o volition exist shooting right on the pump motor. Non a good spot to be in......new filter housing on Monday, only have to tear the filter down once. Gonna be storming all weekend, go it replaced Mon and the filters cleaned and make clean upwards pool then. If you're worried about chems, employ a lilliputian liquid chlorine. I accept seen many repairs to filter housing only to pause in another spot before long!!!

Mine cracked like that. I called Pentair, they replaced information technology for gratuitous nether warranty and it was about 10 years erstwhile. Shipped a brand new one to my house.

Funny I had a puddle ordeal today.

So I've been hearing the leveler run at night. I tin can hear information technology in our bathroom every bit the fitting is tapped into the hose bib right outside the wall. I exercise the HD run. Get all my shit. Cut information technology, dry fit it, mucilage it all together. Paint information technology black again. Wait two hours and examination it. Wouldn't you know 1 of the elbows is cracked. Seriously??? It's all brand new. Fml. Lol. And so back to Home Depot. New everything again. Ran it, no leaks this time. Paint it over again.

Looks like I'g proficient for a couple of years again.

Use that Billy Mays spray on stuff. If it will gear up a gutter and brand a screen door float your pool filter should be a piece of block. Or one of his other commercials. Magic putty..... lol

JB weld the within, fiberglass the outside, coat both side with the Baton Mays stuff, then wrap it with duct record and use a cookie sheet for a besprinkle shield, just in case.
Or maybe call Chicken-Dan, he's a real McGyver.

I had the aforementioned problem, go to Crystaliner (sp) in Costa Mesa. They accept everything you will need to fix this & will probably tell you lot what you need & how to gear up it, really helpful staff. My repairs are going on three years, my pool guy can't believe information technology.

There are very less I seen that the pool filter get cracks. Simply as other said its non a big problem you have to wash the pool and fill the sand. Apply a piece of silicone at the crevice.

Jet ski hull I only repaired. It's non expensive but I won't need this stuff anymore
